I’m so excited to announce that I am re-launching The Life, Love, and Alzheimer’s Podcast!
As you may know, I originally started this podcast back in 2018. I recorded five episodes and then quit.
At the time, my mom was still alive and I was living far away from her. She was in Delaware with my dad and I was in Florida with my husband.
The distance was so hard on me that I entered into what I now know was a depression.
So, after I launched my podcast and it wasn’t an immediate success, I quickly lost the motivation to keep going. Depression and grief will do that.
A little over a year later, we moved back home and about three months after that, my mom died. I guess you could say it’s been a lot!
For the last few years, I have felt an intense calling to re-launch my podcast, and I can no longer ignore it.
I want to be upfront that this will not be a caregiving podcast. I will not be giving tips on how to deal with certain behaviors, symptoms, or activities of daily living. There are other, better people who are already doing that.
I will be sharing stories, tips, and tools to help you cope with the emotions of loving someone with Alzheimer’s or dementia. And I will be teaching you how you can apply these lessons to all areas of your life, so that you can grow as a person from this experience.
Think of it as a self-improvement or self-development podcast for anyone who has ever loved someone with Alzheimer’s or dementia, or anyone who has struggled to figure out life on the other side of this journey.
I didn’t get into self-development until after my mom died, but I can see how much it would have helped me when she was still living, and I can say that it has changed my life and greatly contributed to my healing.
I can’t wait to teach you what I have learned—that this disease is heartbreaking and awful, but you do not have to emerge as a shell of a person on the other side.
I am here to help you cope with and grow from your Alzheimer’s or dementia journey!
If you like reading my posts on here and social media, you’re going to love my podcast!
New episodes will be released every Tuesday starting May 2nd! Available on all major podcast platforms!
Thank you for your support!
Lauren
P.S. The five episodes from 2018 are still available to listen to now! Go binge them all!
